Job title: Staff Consultant (responsible for writing, editing, and translation)

Number of vacancies: One, with two alternates

Application period: October 14 to October 31, 2022

Expected start: January 2023

Qualifications:

  1. Native English speaker with professional proficiency in Mandarin.
  2. Holder of a bachelor’s or higher degree, with specialization in political science, international relations, law, and/or economics preferred.
  3. Skilled in English-language writing and Mandarin-to-English translation.
  4. Flexibility and a strong sense of responsibility.

Responsibilities:

  1. Draft, edit, and/or translate speeches, correspondence, news releases, transcripts, and other documents.
  2. Other assignments as directed.

Salary: Determined according to academic background, work experience, and other qualifications specified in regulations governing compensation for contract-based government employees.

  1. Qualified applicants will be invited by phone or email to take a written test at the Office of the President. Follow-up interviews will be scheduled based on test results.
  2. The selected candidate will be notified to report for work by a specified start date in January 2023.
  3. The Office of the President will maintain secure custody of all application materials, which will only be used internally for the purposes of this selection process, and which will be destroyed after the completion of this process unless an applicant specifically requests the return of their mailed application materials and provides a self-addressed envelope to facilitate return.
