Dr. Akey Hung is a retired entomologist from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), specializing in insect morphology and ecology. His research bridges natural science and classical Chinese studies, focusing on the identification and interpretation of insect references in texts such as the Shijing.
洪章夫博士，美國農業部（USDA）退休昆蟲學研究員，專長於昆蟲形態學與生態學。其研究結合自然科學與中國古典文獻，聚焦於《詩經》等文本中昆蟲名稱的辨識與詮釋。

This talk explores the challenges of translating insect imagery in the Shijing through an interdisciplinary approach combining philology and entomology. It highlights how biological knowledge informs interpretation and how translation shapes modern understandings of classical Chinese literature.
本講座從跨領域視角出發，探討《詩經》中昆蟲意象在翻譯中的問題，結合語文考證與昆蟲學知識進行分析，說明生物知識如何影響詮釋，並進一步思考翻譯如何形塑當代對古典文學的理解。
