about

GITI is the first translation and interpretation institute to be founded in a national university in Taiwan. After four years of planning and preparation, GITI was established in August 1996. Approximately 500 candidates applied for admission in the first year of GITI, for 10 openings. Although GITI now accepts up to 20 students a year, the acceptance rate remains at 5% on average. Starting in 2002, GITI began offering the first Doctoral program in translation and interpretation in Taiwan.

Since its inception, GITI has attracted the best minds from Taiwan and around the world. The low acceptance rate and rigorous training ensure that students receive the attention and training they need to become skilled members of the professional T&I community. The dual emphasis on theory and practice gives our graduates the flexibility and skills to work and succeed in many different fields.
